James and the Giant Peach, a magical fantasy, is a remarkable use of the author’s imagination. James is a young boy who lost his parents and had to go live with his two mean aunts on top of a hill. A mysterious old man gives the protagonist, James, magical crystals. One fall and the flying of crystals makes all the wonderful magic begin. Antagonists, Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge, complicate life for James. The growing peach becomes a home for many creatures. The thrilling adventures James and the creatures have unfortunately end, but better things await.
